Why do EDC and John Dempsey hide his involvement in The Lennoxtown Initiative?

Normally you cannot get a councillor to shut up about how much work he does for his community so why does East Dunbartonshire councillor John Dempsey hide his time on The Lennoxtown Initiative? He was there at the start and he’s still there as a director.

Councillor John Dempsey’s page on the East Dunbartonshire Council website:

Dempsey 2

Where is the directorship in The Lennoxtown Initiative because you are still on the books?

Lennoxtown Initiative

Here is Mr Dempsey right at the start of the Lennoxtown Initiative in June 2001 at it’s incorporation and note as well as being a director he is also a director of Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire another founding partner of The Lennoxtown Initiative:

Dempsey 3

And according to Duedil he’s still there as a director after 12 years:

Dempsey 4

Sometimes it not what people are saying but what they are not saying.

And isn’t it suss that the EDC don’t put into his interests a directorship of The Lennoxtown Initiative which EDC created and funded?

So Mr Dempsey lives in Lennoxtown, is a councillor for Lennoxtown, was on the boards of 2 founding partners of The Lennoxtown Initiative – the EDC and Scottish Enterprise Dunbartonshire – why keep quiet about this?

Thanks to Mr Canoe for the source material and the VB for spotting it.

  1. You are not, by any chance, suggesting Mr Dempsey has vested interests elsewhere? Like the East End of Glasgow?

  2. I am an east Dunbartonshire resident and personally no the council officer Willie Paterson who tells me he regularly runs councillor Dempsey to celtic matches in the council vip car.
