Land Celtic swapped with WSHA was Heavily Contaminated. Housing Association left with Clean-up Bill and let down by DV & Margaret Curran

The District Valuer (DV) in the swap of land between West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) and Celtic should have been working for WSHA but he let them down. He was WSHA’s agent/valuer/advisor and he should have ordered a Site Investigation of the Celtic land prior to transfer.

The DV seemed more concerned about bring down the WSHA valuation closer to Celtic’s and introducing abnormals against the WSHA land for that purpose than worrying what abnormals were on the Celtic land. His purpose as he saw it was leave the Celtic valuation untouched and sink the WSHA valuation because Celtic didn’t want to pay the £75,000 extra that WSHA were looking for.

Well the DV didn’t do his job by WSHA so have a look at the contamination and large clean-up bill that Celtic dumped on a public Housing Association below especially the Report Extracts – 15th May 2014. From just earlier this month.

Margaret Curran was the one rushing this transaction through and now we see the consequences – the public authority end up with the bill and the private company, Celtic, getting a free pass. Because of the intervention of a Scottish Labour member, Glasgow East MP and Shadow Secretary Scotland the normal checks & balances were roughly pushed aside to quickly help Celtic get rid of some dodgy contaminated land – the patsy being a Glasgow Housing Association. A public authority so in effect the rate payers ended up with bill.

Remember when Labour were bleating about bankers and the public purse ending up with the bill for the RBS & HBOS well this is just the same except the Shadow Secretary Scotland was the one expediting the subsidiation.

Margaret – It’s not only the land that WSHA ended up with that looks as if it was dirty.

What sort of chemical are onsite in high concentrations:

Asbestos

Heavy Metals: Lead and Arsenic

Hydrocarbons: Diesel, Oil

So on game days at Celtic Park was it dusty sometimes when the buses were arriving and leaving at the bus park? How many years was this bus park used? These are questions Celtic fans should be asking of their club which had a duty of care towards them.

  3. if mr Milligan is the dv involved here is a report with his name on it. I’m afraid it’s all chinese to me so not sure if you’ll get anything from it. The report is from 2006 so means he’s been in the job for at least 8 years.
